Understand the interval
Does the result include the end date?
By default, no: October 23 → October 24 is 1 day, and the same date is 0 days. “Include the end date” adds 1, so the same date becomes 1 day.
Do daylight saving changes affect the count?
No. We count Gregorian calendar dates as integers, without hours or time zones. March 9 → March 11, 2024 is 2 days, even where the clocks change.
Can the end date be earlier?
The end date must be on or after the start date. We show an error rather than silently swapping your dates. Dates must be real calendar dates from 1600 to 2399.
